Sand Dollar Motel

It was a okay place to stay. Staff was super cool and very knowledgeable (Jeanie) hope I spelled it correctly.

I made the reservation through Expidia, paid on the website at 2:00 pm. When I arrived at the hotel at 7:00 pm I was told my reservation was cancelled because I did not check in by 4:00 pm. So I was charged online and then had no room when I arrived.

The Hotel is what it says. Inexpensive, old, close to near by attractions. The AC are window units and noisy. The beds are comfortable, great water pressure and HOT water. At our time the resident staff person Jeanne was awesome. It’s a great place to have a clean room and shower. Fishing, weekend rest. But if you need more I’d suggest someplace else.

I liked that it was close to the beach The rooms was hotter than outside and the lady on the property was ok until I asked to be moved out the room bc the ac was broke so she moved us into another room and the same .. the ac kept cutting off every few mins until it was too hot and it cut off completely. The ac was wired up to another box and had wires exposed. They have roaches and the beds had blood on them. Hair everywhere. The door has big cracks down the bottom and side of it where bugs would come in and the heat was outrageous being it wasnt even that hot outside.

The staff accommodated our request for a checking in after midnight. The area was very safe, clean, walking distance to the beach, and close to amenities. Too bad the coffee carafe was broken, and the TV remote ran out of battery, but we did not notify the staff because we did not come here ti watch TV.

I made a reservation for a double queen room, I get there and they switched us to a king room . She made it seem like I’m the one that made a mistake and there were no double bed rooms available and she gives me her personal air mattress for my kids to sleep on in the living room where I’m not even sure the locks work.The place is clean but extra towels or anything you have to pay for it. I’m a front desk agent at a reputable company, before I switch rooms I either call or email the person to ask. We also don’t give them our personal stuff. Oh and mind you she knocks on our door with this big huge dog who was friendly I answered it and open and she just comes walking in our room with the dog…I do wanna say tho she was nice and the rooms were clean. I don’t usually write reviews but this one did it.

Location is great!! And the beach is beautiful ? 2 spoons, 1 fork, a couple of plates - seriously?? I was glad that I packed all kitchen equipment and brought it with me but why should I do this? They didn't have even the salt in the kitchen! Don't want to mention other issues... It's not worth the money, IMO

I thought it was great to cook in the room. I brought my electric pan so I was able to cook breakfast lunch and dinner. The refrigerator was new so I was able to keep my food cold. I due have one complaint, no chairs or a table to eat. I have an idea, remove the bed in the kitchen and place a 4 chair table with an overhead light. It would make it like a condo setting. As I said, the room needs chairs and a table to eat

Neat and clean good value for money. Nothing

Can't expect excellent standards at a motel that must be at least 70 years old. But considering its age, it was very, very well worth the money. The hardwood floors appeared to be new, as was the mattress, the TV, the paint, and the shower. The window AC was noisy, but kept the room artic cold (had to clean the filter screen). I would stay here again.

Good location for a traditional motel.

Accommodations was spacious and very clean. Exceptional deal for the cost. No #1 on my list when I am in the area overnight.

This was the perfect spot for my family. Super affordable and great location.

For a sub $100/night place to stay at the beach it wasn't too bad. Very clean, smelled nice, recently updated, great water pressure, 10 minute walk from the beach. The only issue I had was the small window ac unit couldn't keep the room below 75 and the temps weren't over 85 during my stay. Other than that, I had an enjoyable stay. Hopefully the room will have an AC sized like the other rooms because I do plan to come back
