Pros: convenient Cons: dated, worn out towels, bug infection, paid for a King but got 2 double beds, rusted sink and no stopper, after reporting these items to Expedia the owner demanded we leave at 10:30 pm and refused to refund

This place could be cute but not maintained, outdated and felt a little creepy.
-
The floors were very dirty and there were dead bugs all around. It was really dusty as well.
-
It was clean, cozy and nice for a romantic getaway. It could use some upkeep.
-
Very clean
-
Easy check in/check out, what you would expect from a motel in stay, good snacks.

Absolutely nothing, worse motel I’ve stayed in There was dirty socks in the bed, the toilet didn’t work, and when we told the people who work there they were so rude and got mad at me?
-
Toilet overflowed 4 times Water pressure was like a drinking fountain - very low Place really needs a cleaning with a lot of the living area The deadbolt was broken and could easily be pried open See above

Very quiet and accommodating. Small rooms but otherwise comfortable and perfect for our dog.
-
Unfortunately, there is no sound proofing and our neighbour had TV blasting all night - we did not sleep at all and he did not respond to our knocking. The sink in the bathroom was leaking on the floor. The motel is in a very good location, the beds were comfortable, linens clean but overall it is in much need of TLC.

Close to my family we were visiting. Air conditioner good. This motel is borderline not fit for stays. It needs a complete renovation! There was a person living in the room next to us, and he had trash all over in the grass (meat wrappings, other kitchen trash). My daughter found some bites on her leg, so I was checking around her bed. I saw a dirty bucket of chemicals under her bed, with black stuff all over it. We left a day early, never to return.

It was for the most part clean and comfortable. Wifi did not reach my room at all which made working difficult. I ended up having to step outside and connect to the neighboring motel's free wifi when needed. The locks could use an update, was hard to lock and unlock using the key. Some of the towels and sheets were stained which just made them feel not as clean. The window in the bathroom did not close so made me a little uncomfortable having to keep it open/unlocked my whole stay.

I really liked staying here! Even when full, it was peaceful and quiet. I had to arrive very late and the owners made sure I could easily get to the room, even at midnight for check in. I recommend it! There is a carport by each room and a garden seating area outdoors for each. I think it is an old vintage 1950’s motel. My room was on the end and so trees were singing on two sides. It felt quiet, peaceful and is a beautiful setting. I very much enjoyed sitting in the garden area to relax and read and just listen to the trees. If you are fond of vintage motels that have been well cared for, you will like this one. The bath was very clean and had beautiful pale yellow dal tile. It has been well maintained, including vintage fixtures, and is much nicer than many modern bathroom designs. The tub enclosure had been redone. Some of the room furnishings also look vintage. There were cool features like a wooden desk surface you could pull out from the main table, to write on. The pole supporting one carport corner needed repainting. Maintenance and a bit of refurbishing may be ongoing. The down side - in the country the occasional bug might sneak into the room. The first night a spider was hanging out. It disappeared without causing any harm. 1950’s era buildings were not hermetically sealed. The unit was also designed with operable windows, which I hope get restored. In my unit most of the windows did not open.

The heated pool! The room was very clean and comfortable!

Could use some refreshing. Had to ask for new towels. Otherwise the price was right and turned out to be a peaceful and convenient stay close to Auburn and downtown Skaneateles.

Location is very convenient, and, while it wasn't spotless, it was clean enough. Floor could have used a mopping - that was the main issue. We enjoyed sitting at the table in the carport and in the gazebo, but they need to do some maintenance on the latter's steps and clean up the back so you don't have to look at an old vending machine. Bathroom is very basic, but the shower water pressure was good, and the hot water came on quickly. And the bed and pillows were comfortable. Better than some much more expensive places. There was some grit on the sheets, which was odd. Grit, not dirt, like from gravel or gravel dust. On the whole, I was fine for three nights but wouldn't want to stay longer. We used the fan rather than AC, and it was a bit musty but not bad. Would be nice to be able to open the front and bathroom windows. But the sills were so dirty, I didn't try.

I did not stay - owner was not there, whoever was covering only spoke to me through a ring cam, and told me to go to room 5, which ended up not being cleaned. I left and went next door to The Skaneateles Inn, where I have stayed before. Come to find out the owners of Whispering Winds is the son of the owners of The Skaneateles Inn. (that is how I know they were out of town and had someone covering).

Location, location, location. It was close to the event we booked and to stores. Our TV didn't work! Well, perhaps it did but we did not know how to work it and there were not any written instructions anywhere in the room. By the time we were ready to watch, it was very late and staff was asleep and unavailable.

Pool dirty, bath dirty, noisy neighbours. No staff when we arrived. Looks abandoned. Will never come back
