    I left with bumps...

  • Engine customer Oct 2026

The room was clean, but it seemed neglected. For example, there was no running water in the bathroom sink. Overall, it was okay for a quick one-night stay, but for the price, I expected something a little better, especially since it’s located about 30 minutes outside downtown Chicago. 2.5/5

Room was dirty, no working outlets for our devices, no working tv or lamps, staff argued with eachother in our room until I asked them to leave. Had to charge cell phone in car . Pay by hour vibe...

The room and side was decent got lucky with a room that had door only accessible if you have a room in that section. Ac was okay but the room smell was a bit rough along with the bathroom door wouldn’t shut bathroom overflowed

The mattress was decent. The air conditioner worked. The staff were polite and helpful. Those are the only good things I can say about the place. The room didn't have a couch like the pictures for the room advertised. The room wasn't big enough to fit a couch anyway. Isn't that false advertising? The room stank like cigarettes. The TV screen and mirrors were smeared from what looked like someone wiping them down with a dirty wet washcloth. Most of the towels I got with the room had what looked like pubic hair stuck to them. The front desk people got me new towels as soon as I asked. The glass panel for the shower only covers about three-fifths of the shower, so it seems like there was a glass door next to it when it was new that got broken and never replaced. Water got all over the floor every time I showered. The dingy-looking sheets and blankets on the bed had food crumbs on them, suggesting to me that the bedding wasn't changed since the previous room occupant. The most concerning thing was that most of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. The outlet the air conditioning was plugged into was the only one I could charge my phone at. I'm from the Detroit area so I've stayed at some pretty lousy motels, and this place is right up there with them. I understand now why they wouldn't let me specify more than one child guest. It's because their motel isn't a place for kids. The Cindy Lyn Motel is a place for adulterers and hookers and other miscellaneous lowlife people

If I could leave a lower review I would. The photos they advertised of the rooms are not even close to what the room looked like. The rooms were dirty, in disrepair and the quality was severely lacking. Our air conditioner allowed significant light and sound in from outside, both beds had stains on them and holes in the sheets. When we arrived for check-in we had to wait 30-49 minutes because they showed our reservation on the computer but a room was never reserved and put aside. On top of all of that we decided to checkout early and find a new place to stay is was so bad and they refused any sort of compensation and when I attempted to resolve through hotels.com they told hotels.com that we did not inform them we were checking out, yet they took our room key and confirmed with me that we were checking out early and that I did not need to do anything else. This place is poorly managed and maintained and they do not care to lie or be deceitful to their customers. Also, this is probably the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in.

I would not recommend staying here. The hotel is located near a very sketchy-looking avenue, and I did not feel safe during my stay. The room doors only had one lock at the bottom, which made me uncomfortable. The shower doors were also broken, and the room smelled strongly of smoke. What made the experience even worse was the staff member at the front desk, who was scoffing at me and seemed dismissive when I explained that I didn’t feel safe. I understand that everyone has different comfort levels, but I expected my concerns to be taken seriously. Overall, between the location, the condition of the room, the smoke smell, and the way my concerns were handled, I would not recommend this place!

If a horror movie!!! Stay here you

Parking is okay but there was a staff member, I believe one of the maids, begging us for money or a ride. Definitely more of a hostile environment. Pictures do not capture the damage in the rooms, walls, flooring or ceiling. No lights or lamps in the main room, just the bathroom. The environment and illicit activities going on publicly were too extreme- we returned the room cards immediately and left without a refund or anything (and I had paid for two rooms, two nights). Wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless you partake in those “activities” or are looking for a place to stay, especially as a young woman.

The most important thing is that the hotel is very, very safe for a stay. You can even stay for months. 24-hour security present. The old white skinny man at night is very good, humble, and modest. Other staff members are also good. AC was good. Huge parking Lot. Towels, bed sheets, and the toilet were clean Note:- The internet was slow. There is room for improvement for the TV and the internet. Thank You.

The pictures were nothing like reality I took a shower. I didn’t even unpack my bag. I did not sleep there it was so disgusting. Because of the event it was pricing of almost $300 and it was a complete dumpster fire. I have traveled all over the world and stayed in some unique fabulously intrinsic even sketchy, but this place was just dump. I was really disappointed because I like its vibe But the pictures were nothing like the actual.

Just pay attention that this is an actual 2 star or less hotel. It is nothing like its photos. It is very outdated and second-rate. I would never stay here again.

From the time we pulled up we didn't like it. People were hanging out nearby. Cats were all around and the room didn't smell pleasing. We left and didn't even stay the night. Wasted my money.

Would not recommend this hotel, certainly not for a family. Very questionable behavior by some of clientele, and no attempt to hide it, at all hours.
