The hotel was great. The rooms were very nice and offered unique features. (Ours had a side balcony with great views of the Caloosahatchee.) The rooftop bar and pool area were great as well. Nearly all of the staff were super helpful. I would give the overall rating a 4.5 or better. Only thing keeping me from giving top scoring is that the valet service was not great. They clearly need more than one person for this function. That said, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Everything was great. The staff was really nice.

Shower barely worked (next to no pressure). No hair dryer in room. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, offset the general location (grimy arcade you have to walk through to get to the lobby) well.

Good stay

I'm a little disappointed about this hotel because it was my first time in a Hilton. My family of 3 spent a weekend at this hotel and our expectations were not reached. First, no parking available except for VIP and cost which it was daily was too high . Second, the reception was too small. Third, bathroom was not clean properly. And the fourth, was the A/C that was not cooling enough. The lowest temperature of the wall unit was 70, but we felt it as 74. I reported the issue and asked for a new room and our request was never addressed.

Staff super helpful and friendly. I arrived at 9:30 PM and the lady at the reception desk noticed this and said “let’s get you checked in quickly because you will need something to eat and the restaurants near the hotel will stop serving by 10pm”. THATS SERVICE. BTW restaurants in the area are very good. Poor entrance identification. Both lighting and signage.

Convenience to downtown Nothing

First - the location is PERFECT relative to all things 'downtown Ft Myers.' Virtually everything is within walking distance. That said, it's CLEARLY the off season. During our 6 night stay, we had to chase down hotel mgmt 3 days just to get our room made up. (we left the room daily before 9am and returned between 3:30 and 4PM only to find the room as we left it.) The gentleman at the front desk was more interested in his phone than servicing guests. For the amenities - the AC in the roof-level fitness center was off and the thermostat didn't work - showed the temp, but wouldn't come on; the temp ranged from 87 to 92 degrees AND there were no towels to wipe down equipment. While there's a water cooler, one day it was out. The rooftop pool had towels 2 of the 4 days we wanted to use it, and using a room towel with sketchy maid service really wasn't an option. Again - the location is PERFECT, and we're more than willing to overlook sub-par service to walk to all meals, bars, and downtown shops. IF I were a Hilton shareholder however, I'd want the property mgmt terminated immediately. The support staff was willing when asked directly to 'do stuff'; they clearly have no direction - management. We may stay there again in the offseason, or we may choose the Luminary - much better managed property. The problems with the Banyan are all fixable, simply need a property manager who understands attention to detail isn't optional in the service industry.

Great location, but definite issues. Was told that I had already checked in when I arrive to check in and was given keys to someone else's room. Stayed 3 nights and on the afternoon of the 3rd night couldn't access my room and when I had front desk clerk to reactivate my keys, I was told that I had already checked out and they only had me staying two nights.... The location is the only thing that saves this place.
