Lovely hotel and ideally located in the Galveston beach front area. Overpriced room for size of room given. Limited room amenities (very small fridge). Everything is an additional cost (parking, breakfast,etc). For the price paid, would have hoped for some of this to be included

Beautiful hotel with comfortable beds.

We really loved the ocean view from our room!

The room was great. t The bathroom was dangerous .The tile on the floor is very slick, Wehad the matt down but the moisture ran way beyond that and I had a bad fall.

Very friendly staff and a lot of history in the hotel.

There were cockroaches are on the pool, unfortunately, and we were told that we may not be able to check in at four with no accommodation while traveling with young kids. Additionally, in the bathroom, they were standing water in the sink in the toilet did not flush properly.

The Grand Galvez is exactly a very grand hotel. My husband and I enjoyed our very comfortable room. We enjoyed swimming every day in the generous and beautiful swimming pool. We think the first week of October is perfect weather! The staff is awesome! We will stay again.

It’s a first class hotel with a prime location. Nothing

So there was a smell strong to where it gave me and my friend a severe headache and eyes burning, it smelled like paint and paint thinner. We’re only there two days and both days it was very strong. In fact the morning of leaving, we had to leave very early cause it was so bad.

Everything was amazing.

I really enjoyed my stay overall because the property was aesthetically pleasing and looked just as beautiful as I had imagined. My only two issues were the unusual smell in the hallway and in our room, and a significant bathroom leak. Maintenance had to come in and make repairs shortly after we checked in, which was not ideal or enjoyable. The sound of the repair work and having the ceiling opened up during our stay took away from the experience a bit. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay and appreciated the beauty and atmosphere of the property.

Sparkling clean room. Friendly staff. Decent restaurant. Victoria at the bar made an excellent lemon drop martini. Would have preferred a Nespresso over the Keurig in the room.

The property is truly beautiful. Well maintained with an excellent staff. From the amazing woodworking to the fabulous chandeliers. And don’t forget to look down at some beautiful flooring. Worth seeing in person.

The property is gorgeous. That’s as far as it goes. Terrible experience booking and staying at this hotel. I booked my reservation for the deluxe King with ocean view on July 2nd. Got confirmation from Booking.com AND Grand Galvez. Thought everything was good and taken care of. The arrival date came, 9/26/2026, I checked into the hotel and was informed that my room was not available and I would have to be placed into a queue for the next available room. Taken aback at this, as I had made the reservation almost 3 months in advance, I asked why they did not have a room for my stay. They retorted that they had 2 weddings going on in the building and all the ocean view rooms were booked. I paid a premium for a room I could not stay in because the hotel overbooked. When I asked what they were going to do to remedy this, they offered to comp our breakfast. I had paid for the breakfast already. They then said they would comp our dinner. We had dinner plans with other travelers elsewhere. They finally offered Water bottles and champagne to our room. My wife is pregnant and I do not drink. This was supposed to be a wonderful stay at a very beautiful hotel which unfortunately did not happen. We were placed into a city view king room which is less than a 1/3 of the cost of the room I actually paid for. No manager on site to help remedy this situation either. After reaching out to booking.com to confirm the reservation they sent over was indeed the room I selected initially, the hotel could not and would not provide any reason as to why, just that they had two weddings occurring on the property. I have messaged the property directly with no response, as has booking.com. Terrible service, will not stay here again. Such shameful service at such a beautiful hotel.
