La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Galveston West Seawall

One of key issue my wife and I noticed was doors being warped and not closing well, or at all. You could definitely tell it was a beach hotel. Another thing that was irritating was it was extremely difficult to get to. There is only one way in and one way out. Not there fault but it was difficult.

Hotel was a little out dated, room floor and carpet were dirty.

Very clean! Friendly and helpful staff! Seems like the hotel is being remodeled. It looks brand new but you find clues here and there like cracks in the ceiling and little damages to the walls that give it away. The hotel was hard to find to with google maps and Waze. Turn in from seawall blvd on 63rd between Golden Corral and Spark.

MOLD was noted to be everywhere! Not a healthy environment!! They need to address this ASAP!! TV didn't work in the 1st room, had to switch rooms. And the hot tub wasn't working. Just a sad experience:( We moved to a different hotel.

The staff was welcoming, the hotel semi clean because the room very clean but smell in the hallway awful.

Our room was decent, bathroom had a few loose fixtures. Beds were comfortable. The air conditioning work very well. Walls thin, we could hear people talking. Breakfast was okay, not a lot of options; eggs a bit watery and cold and only fruit available was an apple. One “sugar” flavored yogurt, not for diabetics. The drink station with juice and water had an “out of order” sign our whole stay. Tried to wash and dry clothes, but dryer was not working. Lobby water fountain was out of order.

Great for cruising the next day and staying close by. Very close to restaurants and the Seawall to sight see the night before cruise.

Rooms were damp and had a strange smell to them, not to mention mold growing on the bedsheets and the wall. Thankfully we were only there 1 night.

We stayed at the La Quinta on 63rd Street in Galveston for our son’s second birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing enough that we decided not to stay a second night. The first elevator had an extremely unpleasant odor resembling human waste. When we reached the third floor, there was another stale, musty smell that continued into our room. The room was extremely cold when we arrived. After adjusting the AC to about 70 degrees, significant condensation developed on the floor. It became wet enough that we kept our shoes on, and I would not let our two-year-old walk barefoot after his shower. The room also had a persistent odor that reminded me of a refrigerator that had been left unplugged and closed for an extended period. I cannot say what caused the smell, but it was strong enough that I became uncomfortable keeping my wife and young child there another night. There were also maintenance concerns. Some outlets did not work properly, and one socket was loose enough that my charger repeatedly fell out. Early that morning, I went downstairs for coffee and noticed unidentified black specks floating in my cup after adding half-and-half, so I poured it out. My wife and I regularly camp and boondock, so we are not expecting luxury. We simply expect a hotel room to be clean, dry, maintained, and comfortable for our child. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met. I hope management seriously investigates the odors, moisture, electrical issues.

The room smelled like mold and there was visible black mold on the ceilings and water was also dripping from the ceiling! Asked to be moved to another room which was better until we were going to bed to find out both beds has sauce all over the "clean" sheets. Will not stay here again

Everything was good until we got to our room. Our shower has a brownish mark running across the shower floor. At first I thought it was a stain, but I cleaned it with soap and water. The person at the front desk told me that some of the showers on the 5th floor had leaks causing brownish fluid to leak into the showers. This issue needs to be fixed. Then I opened the refrigerator and it had a lot of black spots inside the refrigerator door and just looked like it never gets cleaned. Then I found brown spots on the inside of the comforter. I ripped off all the blankets and got clean ones from the front desk. I only stayed here one day, so I just lived with it. In the morning I went to get coffee from the coffee bar and there were ants crawling everywhere. I will never stay here again. I will say that the hotel staff were really nice.

Checking it appeared to be a very nice clean place. Everything seemed great until we reached our floor. The 4th floor smelled horrible like urine, even our room smelled like it. The room seemed nice and clean other than the horrible smell. We had just made a 4 hour drive so decided we would lay down early and watch TV. I had planned to sign in my Netflix account however it said there was no internet connection. Switch over to another free channel that required streaming and it worked fine until 1/4 away into the movie and then it shut down with a no internet message. Gave up on trying to watch TV. Next morning I started to repack and tried to turn on one of the lamps. The light started flickering as if it was about to short out so my husband had me shut it back off. I travel some and I am used to electronic check out but the man at the desk said no. So I had to go through all the process of checking out that I had to do checking in. There is another place that I normally stay at for cruising that runs about $50.00 a night more and honestly I am willing to pay the extra money verses staying here again.
