Courtyard by Marriott Hilton Head Island

Upon arrival, it took well over 10 minutes to check in. The "system" is so SLOW. The guest wifi was not working all night and the TV didn't work since it was "not connected to the internet". The front desk person said the "engineer" was not on site. The next morning, the wifi was fixed but the TV still did not work. The engineer came to our room, fiddled with the wires for about 10 minutes and said he could not do any more and we should change rooms since we were staying for another night. At that point we went out to start our day. Upon our return in the afternoon, the front desk person was ready with a room across the hall from our original room. However, it took ANOTHER 10 minutes to key the cards and check us in. There was no apology, no offer to help us relocate to our new room and no follow up. This hotel is clean and in a great location but they need a better chech-in "system" and more training for staff.

The check-in experience with Holly was awesome. The overall service was exceptional. The room was clean, but I would have loved for it to be a tad bigger. I loved dining on the rooftop; such a beautiful view, and Dennis made it very special as he provided great service and conversation. The beach was within walking distance, as were shopping and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

Superb

The beds are uncomfortable and housekeeping is supposed to come every other day but we stayed 4 nights and never had our room cleaned. Check in was a challenge as it was showing an amount due though we prepaid through Expedia. The clerk had to “do some math”. She was sweet and this wasn’t on her at all. Would not stay here again.

No breakfast. $300 for one night and no breakfast. NO COFFEE in the lobby. Front desk staff with zero personality. $300 for one night and still have to PAY to park ?????

Room cleaned every other day, however this was not stated at check-in. Onsite Starbucks coffee had limited operating hours, opening at 6:30a and closing at 9:30a. Shower had 4 obviously long stands of hair in/around it. Lobby was extremely cold over all 6 days if our stay, and the condensation from the ceiling air vents in the lobby had water dripping from them on one day.

Very good hotel, helpful staff and close to the beach. The pillows were not the best for my taste. Super thin. Otherwise, excellent hotel.

First thing when we got there it was very hot outside. Got to our room and no A/C thermostat had dead batteries. Called the front desk and they sent someone right up ASAP. But it should have been working when we got there. Plus front desk person at check out was not friendly at all. Next trip to Hilton Head we will look into the double tree by Hilton. Plus crazy the charge for parking.

Check-in was easy and the room/bathroom were very nice/clean. I do not understand the showers that only have a half panel and leave a large opening for water to splash out, but it seems like more hotels are using those. The gym was nice and so was the rooftop pool (great views!). The hotel is conveniently located a street over from a lot of shopping/dining, is less than a ten-minute walk to the beach, and only a few minutes drive to things like mini golf and additional fine dining. I'd stay there again.

We just got coffee and a danish from the Starbucks. It was good as usual. No microwave and the refrigerator was very small. Everything else was good

Two roaches found in the bathroom overnight, left VERY first thing in morning. Front desk apologized for the “inconvenience.” Upon calling the hotel manager, she apologized also, and offered a financial gesture. Pleased with the offer, but cannot see why we’d ever return.

Do not stay here. It is absolutely not worth the money or the hassle,it was a horrible stay from start to finish. The issues started immediately at check-in. The front desk clerk didn't even bother to greet me or speak properly. He literally mumbled something under his breath about the breakfast and bar, but I have no clue what he actually said because there was zero attempt at basic customer service. When we made our way down the hallway, we noticed the wallpaper was peeling and hanging right off the walls. Things only got worse once inside our room: The wallpaper was coming off in the bathroom too, but worse was the obvious lack of proper cleaning. It was clearly just spot cleaned rather than actually sanitized. The armchair next to the bed was covered in remnants from previous guests, crumbs, sand, shells, and even peanuts buried in the cushion. To top it off, the chair smelled like wet dog. The TV didn't work when we arrived. They sent two men up to fix it, but after they left, they left behind a heavy, lingering smell of cigarette smoke. The absolute biggest hazard, however, was their complete disregard for guest safety. When our room key stopped working, my husband went down to the front desk. A woman who had just come on shift handed him brand-new room keys without checking his ID to verify who he was. She had never seen him before and had no way of knowing if he was actually registered to our room or just someone walking in off the street. Big security risk.

Pleasant

For the price, I would’ve expected way more. The hotel rooms are in need of some TLC. Beach access was the best part of this hotel. And the turtle talk was fun. There are quiet hours- which is crazy. If I would’ve known that prior to booking I would have never stayed. Not that I’m a loud person, it just made me and my partner feel like we couldn’t go out and come back after 11pm. Very weird. Staff were ok, not super helpful, and got a lot of different info from each person. Food was horrible, we ate once at one of the restaurants and then ate out the rest of the time, as it was very expensive for crappy food. Wouldn’t go back, other super nice places to stay on the island.

Roof top and security love the decoration distance to the beach and Starbucks inside always a plus

Room was spacious, and the staff was very friendly especially Marley who checked us in. Didn't seem to be sufficient parking.
