Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Independence-Kansas City by IHG

The room was clean, not in excellent shape. We didn't realize they will only clean the room every other night. The staff in the breakfast area was excellent, I believe her name was Stephanie.

The room smelled horrible, like dirty dogs, toilet paper rack was coming out of the wall, and they came to fix it they left the mess on the floor, very little water pressure or hot water, said ice machine on 2nd floor there wasn’t, parking lot was marked off

Super comfortable beds! Very friendly staff, the lady that runs the breakfast was so friendly and it's located next to a wonderful Mexican restaurant .

We specifically selected this location as it had trailer parking available... however, when we arrived the parking lot was under construction and there was no trailer parking available. The desk agent said to park at the hotel next door but there were signs that unauthorized vehicles would be towed. We had to find another hotel to stay at.

Walked into our room to see what we believe were carpet beetles all over the place, alive and dead. Didn’t even put our things down and immediately left to stay somewhere else. The front desk was at least very understanding and issued a refund without a problem. There is also a lot of cones and caution tape in the parking lot making half the spots unusable and side doors unavailable which is kind of a pain when traveling with pets. The amount of money they’re charging for the state of the room we were assigned is kind of insane.

Had no issues with a super late check in. Nicely kept property. We’ve stayed here two weekends for Chiefs games . We’ll be back!

Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast

We were accommodated with an early check-in which we appreciated. Very clean, nice sized room.

This was a great place to stay. Staff were nice and courteous, place was clean, and beds were comfy. We stayed here to go to a Chiefs game. The stadium was only 9 min away, so we could get there quick. An added plus... Great Mexican food restaurant right next door. What more could ya ask for? 😊

When searching for places to stay, I typically seek out a Holiday Inn Express, and this property was unfortunately disappointing. I stayed here for a weekend of Royals games. Staff was not very friendly nor helpful or receptive to concerns. The TV service was out for two days and we never received a notice this was the case, nor any updates about the outage. Bathrooms were older and more rundown (paint peeling from ceiling, mildew in shower), and breakfast was smaller and limited. I sadly wouldn’t stay here again.

Clean and comfortable

Breakfast was very good, very clean and staff was nice. Very well prepared and tasted good.

The beds were comfortable. $300 for one night is too expensive. For the cost of the hotel the breakfast could have been better. The hotel could have been cleaner.

Room was clean. AC was a bit loud. No coffee in room. Breakfast was very good. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Okay beds. A TV to watch to decompress from a long day's drive. Location was central and close to other points of interest. Clean towels. The bathroom shower was disgusting. It had clearly NOT been cleaned in a LONG while. Grime and dirt there and on the tile floor in front of it. Both the bathroom sink and the tub would not drain properly, which explained the water staining and soap scum issue in both. Visible dirt/sand/whatever piled in corners of the bathroom floor and the outer hallways were nasty too. Come on! Clean up folks!

Great

The bed was comfortable for me.

Hot tub didn't work. Property was Avery dated and poorly maintained.

Todo

When we arrived to our room, the air wasn’t working and we were able to get a new room right away!
