It’s clean and quiet. Staff is great. Beds were comfortable The coffee at breakfast needs a lot of improvement. No matter how much milk I added to my coffee it looked like mud

Great room, clean, comfortable and very roomy. The included breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here again!

Essenhaus was a delightful and restfull overnight experience. We were greeted at the front desk by two extremely helpful staff members and directed to our room. The hotel was very well appointed with staff friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Location The room smelled musky/ moldy and there was stains in the bathtub. Overall, I felt like I was staying in a retirement community the way it was decorated.

Very nice and rooms were comfortable and very clean. The layout was perfect! The breakfast was adequate for a continental. I was hoping that the food would have been more Amish cuisine. Nothing! Grounds were beautiful, but cold and rainy so we’re not able to enjoy much.

Very comfortable bed, slept wonderful. Nice rooms. The breakfast we had for the 2 day stay was amazing! So good! Will definitely come back again! Would recommend this hotel to my friends

I love the quietness of the area. The comfort of the lobby. The shops are also great! Sorry to say but the beds are really uncomfortable. Other than that we enjoy our stay.

Location was good. The room was musty smelling snd the decor was old. Had to open windows to clear the air. Never went away

Clean, spacious, comfortable and beautiful, inside and out!

We have always appreciated this property for its values and its cleanliness. The grounds are beautiful and the common areas are simply exquisite. Thoughtful touches including coffee stations and restrooms are everywhere. Maybe not magical like it was years ago but still a special experience overall.

Charming is the word that came to mind when staying here. We only stayed one night but will definitely plan a weekend. Breakfast was very good. Beautiful property.

The property was nice but the experience was awful! I paid cash at check in for my stay and the hotel ended up charging my credit card also. I called the hotel after checking out and seen another full night's stay on my bank statement. I spoke to Sharmin and was placed on hold multiple times and given excuses that made no sense. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager on duty at the property (at 3:30 pm) and was informed a manager would contact me the following day. I expressed that simply was not acceptable and I wanted this issue resolved today!!! As a former Assistant General Manager in the hotel business I can say I am throughly disappointed in this whole experience at The Essenhaus (I expected a better experience than that). A few hours later I finally received a call back from Lisa. The excuse I was given by her was there was a power outage (??) that caused the issue with my card being charged after paying cash. Just another excuse to add insult to injury! What I don't understand is why no one stopped to think hey we wouldn't have given keys to get into the room if they hadn't paid first. But I guess at least my card was refunded with nothing more than a sorry and a handful of excuses.

Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast was amazing! The grounds are so beautiful with trails to walk or ride a bike.

Rooms were fine. Some beds were too soft. Power out. Cold showers. Breakfast was not great but did the best they could. Disappointed that fine breakfast was not up to par but not their fault.
