Really close to everything. Parking was expensive and not expected $50 plus tax per night is way too much

On the website, daily housekeeping is listed under amenities. When I asked for this, they stated this was not the case. I asked front desk to clean room and send up a new hair dryer as one in room did not work.. they said they would send a new dryer within a half hour but did not. On way out for the day I asked if they could clean room and bring a new dryer at that time. They made a note of it but when we came back to room to rest before dinner, nothing was done. I called and asked for housekeeping to come and they sent someone who had no idea about dryer. I took broken one to front desk and was assured one was being brought up by supervisor. When I went back to room after giving housekeeping time to clean all they had done was lay clean towels on sink and nothing else. I saw them in hallway and told them I needed room cleaned. They took old towels on floor and emptied trash. I had to ask for more shampoo and TP. They were going to leave w/out making beds. That was the first day of our stay and I never had housekeeping after that! When I checked in they stated my credit card for incidentals was denied even tho my company said it was not and I used it subsequently for purchases. On nite before check out day went back to room to relax before dinner only to find my key did not work so had to go to front desk and wait in line to get it to work instead of relaxing as planned. When I stay in a hotel I expect service without begging for it or getting annoyed responses to my request

What a wonderful place to stay. Fantastic location! fabulous Pool. Haunted Bar! Corey at the front desk had so many great suggestions and was an absolute delight! I do have one note: Our room just happened to be right above where they rolled out the insanely loud dumpsters every night anywhere between 2am ish to 4 am ish. ANd when I say insanely loud I mean like we were on the inside of the dumpster being dragged out to the street. But hey it's NOLA and hysterical and a small price to pay!

Lovely French charm! The staff was nice and hotel is attached to a cozy bar next door with live music on the weekends. The room was small, but that was not an issue for us. There was a mini frig, a small coffee Kruerig style coffee maker, and they also had coffee and popcorn at the pool. It was a good location, middle of the French quarter so walkable to most things. We would stay there again. One note, parking is $50 per day.

Prime location, room could have been better. Felt old and not cleaned well. The restroom smelled like urine and she shower filled with water when used.

Upgraded to the "Premium" Hermann King, the property is across the street from the actual hotel. No amenities on that side. You walk through a metal door, NO LIGHTS on the alley. Up stairs to the 2nd floor, which we didn't know that it was stairs up with a couple heavy suitcases. Get into the room, the brick walls are beautiful, high ceilings are great. Rooms don't have phones to call front desk when have issues. Bathroom needs to be gutted. Tub, a jacuzzi tub... doesn't work as a jacuzzi tub. It didn't work at all, I had to get maintenance, then he left and I realized there was no way to stop the water from draining the tub. Light fixture is cracked and dirty. Just needs a lot of love. We arrived early, the first woman who pre-checked us in was very nice but said we would get a call when room was ready. Never got the call, checked back at 3:15 and was told it has been ready. 2nd person at check in counter was not nice. She also "helped" me with maintenance and was really rude about it. We were not told about the breakfast available for $9.95, water and drinks in lobby, pool, nothing. We needed a couple things and I had to walk to the front desk to ask, again to the woman who was not friendly. I'm not sure I'd stay here again, too many other locations nearby that were better.

Nice setting, well-located, but tiny bathroom and incredibly noisy early in the morning.

I thought the staff was very helpful, and walking distance to a lot of the places we wanted to see, I enjoyed my stay there till next time!

The hotel was centrally located to so many things. Walk out the door and you were on Bourbon Street. The hotel is old. Needs so many repairs. It's like someone bought it and just forgot about it. We had a bed and a desk, no chair(s). A couple of our family staying in other rooms had chairs, desk, etc. No biggie unless you need to sit or work. The outside and the rooms need work, but they were clean. The staff was incredible. So helpful in every aspect. The bar does not open until 4pm, so if you are looking for a lunch time bloody mary, not going to happen. The breakfast buffet was $9.95... Pool area was nice and clean with several people in the pool. No place really to sit except by the pool in a couple of chairs or on the 2nd floor, where there was a patio area, that was nice. The room was left to be desired. Would I go back? Maybe because of the location. Not sure.

We stayed in the carriage house. It was very noisy.

  • Engine customer Oct 2026

Room was run down and shabby. Smelled like mildew. Poor water pressure. Mild in shower. Hard and uncomfortable bed. Missing a drawer pull, no luggage rack and could not get tv to work. Elevator was very hot.

  • Engine customer Oct 2026

Television had to operated manually. Air conditioning rained down at 2:00a.m. Was moved to a room very small. Mattress was horrible. Day staff didn’t seem to care. Night manager was outstanding.

This is a great location! Just around the corner from Bourban Street and a 10-15 minute walk to Jackson Square and the French Market. The staff is very helpful and the hotel is clean and with comfortable beds. Will stay here again.
