Hotel Shocard at Times Square

Great place near Times Square if you just need a bed and a private bathroom. A small room, as to be expected, but it was clean and in good condition overall. However our shower didn't work the first night. They were fully booked so we couldn't change rooms. They did their best to fix it but it was just a weak stream of water so it wasn't a great shower. We were exhausted from travel and some initial exploration of the area. The hour or so wait for the fix and the poor shower didn't made our trip start off very well. We did switch rooms the next day and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine as an apology. The staff was friendly overall and seemed genuinely apologetic about the shower. Everything was fine in the new room. The shower worked much better. If it had been our first room I would have rated 4 stars. I still recommend this place for a good no frills place to stay near Times Square. Worth the money and would stay there again.

Great location, friendly staff

Location and bed Elevator broke and then fixed then broke with people stuck we had to use stairs whole time. Very small room. Barely room to walk. Bar down stairs blared music all night

Great location! We really enjoyed the irish bar downstairs. Live music, and great staff! The rooms are very small, which was fine for our stay, but if we were staying longer, i would have wanted a bit more space. Also, there was a constant noise from a building directly behind us. Would recommend earplugs for sleeping.

The rooms was smaller than what I am accustomed to. The staff was friendly. I would not stay there again because of the rooms smaller square footage.

The trash hadn't been taken out from the previous occupant. I am not sure how clean the room was.

HVAC was either extremely cold or very hot. One time did not get hot water.

Muy buen servicio y muy céntrico

Convenient location for all attractions midtown Staff wasn’t really attentive and my friend and I got stuck in the elevator and the staff didn’t acknowledge this after or apologized . Elevator was constantly not running to running multiple times a day, hard to know if it’s even safe.

great location in TSQ, rooms very small. good stay for 1-2 nights and don’t plan on staying in room at all except to sleep. clea. comfortable bed.

The room was clean. Staff was pretty friendly. I didn’t sleep very well because music was played loudly every single night. The elevator was constantly in and out of service. The room was very small I felt like I was in a box. I would not stay at this location again.

Superb

The location was absolutely incredible! The staff was friendly and offered to keep our bags before we could check in so that we could explore the city without lugging around our suitcases. I also loved the discount at the bar downstairs lol

It’s a great location. Staff were amazing, rooms were nice. I’d stay here again. The only thing that keeps this from all stars is that there was live music directly under my room … had I realised that I would’ve asked for a higher floor. It’s was not horrible, but if you’re into sleep, I suggest anything higher than the second floor. Over all a good experience, and I would stay again.
