W New York - Times Square

Room is outdated but very clean

Overall, a good hotel for the price, but it’s very noisy because of its location in Times Square. I recommend requesting a higher floor on the quieter side of the hotel. Also, there were no slippers in the room, so I had to request them separately at the reception.

Concierge service was very attentive The noise from Times Square. I feel like the window should be double or triple pane to cut down the noise.

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES. At check-out we incurred $500 worth of “incidentals.” The taxes were off the charts. My husband and I ordered a brownie and ice cream via “in-room dining.” The taxes and fees were more than the dessert. Also! The communication with housekeeping was poor. We had the “Not Now” tag hanging on the door and we were still busted in on THE DAY BEFORE we were scheduled to check-out. My husband and I were both nude. Unacceptable.

Rooms near the elevator shaft may experience noise 24 hours a day, which can seriously disrupt guests' rest.

The staff was extremely helpful. The room service was very quick.

The rooms could use a remodel however it was clean, bed was comfy and the hotel is in the center of it all. You can hear the city noise from the 22nd floor however you are so beat from walking and exploring we fell and stayed asleep fine. However, I could imagine a light sleeper being bothered by it. Concierge staff were very helpful!

In comparison to the W hotel in Philadelphia, it was nice. I recommend a TV for the “living room “ area! Also the furniture in the lobby/lounge is a bit dated but overall my room was great overall 3.5/5

Stayed in room 2602 and the elevator sounded like a freight train, sleep interrupted, everything else very good.

The hotel itself was nice, and the location was perfect. However, my experience with the check-in process, room, and unexpected charges made what I hoped would be a stress-free vacation much more stressful than expected. My husband and I booked through Expedia and arrived at the hotel expecting a smooth check-in. Instead, we waited over an hour because the staff could not locate our reservation. After trying several different ways to find the booking, a manager was called. While we were waiting another 15–20 minutes for the manager, I asked a different associate to check whether Expedia had placed the reservation under my husband’s name. Sure enough, that is where the reservation was listed. The receptionist apologized and offered to sign us up for Marriott Bonvoy points, gave us complimentary drink passes, and offered $20 off drinks throughout our stay. While I appreciate the gesture, those offers did not make up for the significant inconvenience and stress we experienced. We were eventually given a room on the 55th floor. Unfortunately, the room smelled strongly of smoke, so after an already long day, we had to pack up and move to another room. I was also disappointed by the additional charges. The “free” offers did not feel free when we were charged a $45-per-day destination fee. There was also a $200 deposit, and I was not adequately prepared for the additional fees associated with the stay. These charges should have been communicated much more clearly before arrival.

Had another great stay at the W Hotel in Times Square. Hotel is local to anything regarding midtown. Staff is accommodating and very friendly.
