Not as advertized. I expected all services to be open only to find most were not active at all. Bars closed, retaurant open in the evening only although advertized as breakfast lunch dinner. Most amenities were closed down. The grounds were falling apart. There was no turn-down service or room cleaning at all for the 5 days I was there. Not a all as advetized.

This is my go to spot when I am in Salado.

The water pressure in room 224 was almost nonexistent and the water got barely warm. The water in the sink was perfect though. But something I found cute was the dog paw print in the tile in front of the sink. You really have to look at the right angle though to see it. I’m hoping it was an imprint in the tile and not just a floor that hasn’t been cleaned, but it made me smile.

The town was awesome The bed was very uncomfortable. We left in the middle of the night because it was so uncomfortable. The cleanliness needs improvement as well

I love my stay here. It was quiet, clean and so comfortable. It rained when I was there so I didn’t get to use the pool. This was a 10 out of 10.

Absolutely love this place, such kind staff! I am a painter and I need certain amenities unusual for normal guest and they were incredibly accommodating You can see the history and see where it took place amazing property

So sad and disappointed. Such history in this place and it’s in bad shape. Gone is the wonderful restaurant of yesterday. Still a summer weekend and the pool was green and full of algae.

home rather than stay. Unfortunately, this property was disappointing from the start. We arrived around 3:40 p.m., during check-in time, and the front desk was unattended. There were two employees working registration, but both left at the same time to pick up their complimentary food from the restaurant. I completely understand an employee needing a break, but with two people working the desk, one could have remained to assist arriving guests—especially during prime check-in time. Once we finally received our key and carried our luggage to the room in the heat, we couldn’t get inside because the interior security latch had somehow been left engaged. We had to wait again for someone to come help us gain access. The real dealbreaker, however, was the pool. We changed into our swimsuits expecting to finally relax, only to find the water green, murky and visibly full of algae. It looked completely unacceptable for swimming and raised serious concerns about how the pool was being maintained. This should be shut down by the health department. The pool bar was also closed with no attendant, despite the property prohibiting guests from bringing outside food and beverages. At that point, we’d had enough. We requested a refund, packed our belongings back into the car and drove home rather than stay. To the hotel’s credit, (one star earned) we received a full refund, and the young employee who assisted us was pleasant and tried to suggest other accommodations.

Lovely hotel for a stay in beautiful downtown Salado. Great access to shops and restaurants

We had a wonderful stay. The property needs a little sprucing up but overall a beautiful place to stay.

We went down mainly to hang out in the pool. We got ready, went down there, and the pool was GREEN!! Couldn’t get in at all. I checked before booking to make sure the pool was open after Labor Day. They said yes. Very disappointing.

For the price I wasn’t satisfied. There’s was dead roaches, the floor made our feet turn black, there was a stain on our comforter, the hinge on one of the cabinets was coming off under the sink which was dangerous for my toddler. The pool wasn’t clean and it smelled odd. I stayed in the pool for maybe 5 minutes because it made me feel gross. I feel that my money was wasted and it doesn’t even deserve 3 stars but I love visiting the town of Salado so I’m not trying to completely lower the rating but I feel that my stay was unpleasant and unfair.

If I had a higher rating available for the staff, I would give it to them. Every person we interacted with at the property was AMAZING. polite and responsive. The property and room was very clean. The ADA room was large with a great walk in or roll in shower.

Floors extremely dirty when we arrive same as the pool. Very different from our first stay a few monyhs ago.

Would have liked to have a mini-refrigerator or ice machine close by. But nice stay.

Not really a historic Inn. The room was spacious and clean but overall the property was not very well maintained. Broken umbrellas around the pool, flower beds overgrown with weeds and it’s not easy to find the reception area.
