Best Western near Lackland AFB/SeaWorld

Roaches and spiders in the room, had to kill 3 roaches during our stay. Faucet wouldnt stop running so it leaked all day all night, front desk said it was normal and nothing to be done. Room service never made the beds or cleaned the rooms, just replaced the tissue and towels. Key card kept deactivating throughout the whole stay, had to keep going to the office and getting it reprogrammed. Just a horrible experience overall. Will never again stay at their hotels.

We hve stay here a few times now when we visit San Antonio. Always a great experience.

I can see Denny's from my window Staff. After entering the empty lobby to check in, i immediately noticed the male at the front desk was on the phone. No problem there; and i was happy to wait. Nearly 10 minutes later, however, there were a couple problems: 1) i realized that the male on the phone, who may have been the general manager or a relative of the general manager, had not even acknowledged me even though i was the only other person there and i was no more than 20 feet away from him. A simple wave and a shrug while pointing at the phone would've been fine; and 2) being that i was no more than 20 feet away, i couldn't help but hear this guy's half of the phone conversation. right around the eight minute mark, it occurred to me that at no point up until the eighth minute did this guy ever try to wrap up his phone conversation or press the other person on the line to do the same, or ask the other person if he could put him on a brief hol or call him back because there was a guest waiting to check in, OR rung any bell or hit any buzzer to alert someone to come to the front desk and check me in. to the contrary, it was completely obvious that i was of little to no importance to this guy whatsoever compared to who he was speaking to over the phone and gave me the distinct impression that he had already either settled on the fact that i would either wait regardless of how long it took for his phone conversation to end or i would get frustrated and leave and he was good either way.. when he finally hung up the phone, he offered no apology whatsoever for the long wait and actually spent about five minutes toward the end of the check-in process challenging my negative responses to his questions regarding things that would result in the forfeiture of my $60 security deposit for my room. "Do you have any pets?" "No."<raises one eyebrow" " You don't have ANY pets?" " No.

The room was a bit smelly, like mody and wet smell. Their breakfast order was okay. As we was leaving for the trip, a guy told us that his brand new truck just got stolen from the parking lot last night and he is filling a report with police. That is some scary stuff. Even though he said they got cameras in the parking lot...so I dont know how it happened.

The front desk was not at their post. I had call her on her cell phone to get her come to the desk to check me in. There was also a problem with local wild life. There was a possium on stairwell to the second floor late at night that caused inconvenient door dash delivery. Other than that Everything else was fine.

I like that it was close to everything. Esthetically, if I knew it’d look the way it did - I genuinely would not have agreed to pay the price I did to stay there. Slightly dated.

Staff was great.

While this got good reviews I was disappointed by the WiFi never working properly we had to use our phone hotspots. The water pressure also left something to be desired. And the breakfast was mediocre at best. Also the air conditioning took a whole day to cool off the room, as it wasn’t running before we checked in. Having worked for hotels in the past we would always start the heat or air when we knew guests were checking in. This is a motel not a hotel, so maybe that’s why all these things were not great. If the door is located outside, it’s a motel not a hotel and should be labeled as such.
