Best Western San Diego Pacific Beach/Mission Bay

Checked in after a concert in Mission Bay and the man at the desk was very nice and helpful. Room was clean ( I love that more and more hotels are ditching the old gross carpet!), spacious, and comfortable. The main lot in front of the rooms was pretty cramped but there's a side lot with more room. We felt safe, and despite being very close to the freeway did not notice any freeway noise at all. The free breakfast was definitely lacking(as these kinds of things normally are), but, I was able to grab some coffee for me and some juice for the kid at least.

The property is well run and clean. The linens were clean, pillows soft, tv screen was big, shower/bath water strong flow. Breakfast included was delightfully filling. Close to the fwy for convenience. Hot tub was hot enough. Did not use the pool but noticed it was clean. I would stay again!

Clean and comfortable

This hotel is old but the lobby and rooms have been nicely updated. There’s ample parking and the pool looked clean. No frills, but it’s clean, safe, and affordable which is what I was looking for.

The late afternoon staff at the front desk counter and the breakfast staff were not rude, but appeared to be put off when asked a question or when assistance was needed. Breakfast: Food container and jars should be label so you know what is what. There was no juice or alternative

This place was very easily accessible and perfect for our trip. The room was just as expected and clean. Only downsides were upon check in there were a lot of drain flies in our room. One thing we did not account for was how close we were to the water so it was more humid than normal. Our belongings smelled like mildew after the trip from the AC Unit. Overall would stay again but keep in mind the things mentioned above.

Disappointing

Good

location is right off the freeway; easy access of the location of the hotel and close to SeaWorld; room is clean and I like how the room has many lights. The only thing that needs improvement is the complimentary breakfast. It needs improvement on the menu: only served sausage and eggs and cereals, with two types of bread: slice bread and english muffins, banana and apples. The yougurt machine is not even working properly.

Pleasant

Location was perfect. I was in town for one evening and this place was close to the airport, close to Mission Bay, close to downtown, close to I-5 freeway, close to restaurants. Breakfast was average at best. I would have preferred a waffle machine because the runny scrambled eggs and sausage was not good.

Pros: Spacious room, bigger fridge (not a full size), microwave in room, hardwood flooring, convenient location (close to freeways, etc), breakfast available, lots of parking available. Cons: Dirty towels, old stains on the bedsheet, musty smell on the sheets, NO safe in the room, no cabinets (only a rack available), pull out bed was too uncomfortable.

The rooms were all dirty, arrived late in the day , and we were placed in 3 different rooms. Although the bed was made in each of them, the floor was black with filth. It looked like people that smoke were in the rooms putting ash on the floor, very weird and disturbing experience.

The room was strong oddor like insecticide for pest control I was tired and falling asleep

Location Poor quality breakfast, swimming pool did not appear clean to use

We like Breakfast and Yogurt. Everything else okay accept the AC too loud.
