Clean and grand.

Professional and polite staff, the grounds were well maintained, ample useful and attractive all while being well located for my purposes.

The property has declined tremendously. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, musty smell in the halls and room, parking garage is filthy. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Reservations poorly handled. Very clear they have relied on being the only option in town for a long time, but with new places opening, will not stay there again.

The staff that we had contact with were very nice and accommodating but the rooms definitely need updating. We haven’t stayed here in years. The drawers in the furniture in the room were broken and did not close. The light fixtures were rusty and the fire sprinklers were rotted and rusty.

Older facility , clean and well kept. Large pool, could use some updating. The Hotel structure is beautiful with some interesting amenities and decor. Staff are pleasant and very informative . Restaurant and bar areas are clean and set up well. The breakfast looked very appealing at the buffet , ordered off the menu and was delicious. Parking is free and is off street with easy access to Hotel

I booked a room many months in advance through Expedia for move-in weekend in Spartanburg at this Marriott because of the wonderful location to the college. I was placed in a handicapped room unnecessarily as we do not need the accessible accommodation. When we took a shower the entire bathroom floor got wet due to the placement of the handheld shower head. Which also was chest high and not adjustable for taller individuals. I asked why I was placed in a handicap accessible room and I was told that those are the rooms that are pulled by Expedia when booking at the Marriott. I have booked many hotels through Expedia and this has never happened to me, so that was disappointing, and I wondered if it were true. The other complaint I had of the room was there was a two-way door in my room making the room a good fit for a larger family. Also not something that I needed. There happened to be two very loud men staying in the room next to me. The voices were so clear I first thought they were in the hallway having a conversation and was hopeful that they would be moving on soon only to find out that they were actually staying in the room next door. They remained very loud until 1130. The two-way door was very thin so it sounded as if they were in the same room with me. I would not pay the extra money to stay in this location again, there are better deals in the area when visiting my daughter at college.

Great staff! Very friendly and accommodating. The location was great and the rooms were clean The rooms need updating. Carpet looked worn and the beds sit very low to the floor. They were comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy pillows and nice thick bath towels, however the rooms just look dated and need a refresh. I feel like I overpaid, expecting a Marriott property.

From the first moment, we were impressed with the property. The common areas are clean. The registration representative was friendly and personable. All questions were answered. The room was clean with a great view. the location was perfect for our event. We went to see "Backbone" at the Chapman Cultural Arts center less than a mile away. The streets were quiet and we felt safe walking to and from the event after 9pm. Very happy with choice and will visit again.

I loved our staff they were really sweet! We got one of the last rooms available and it was a handicapped room! The tv barely worked with the remote and there was a constant loud water drip noise coming from inside the closet that backed up to the shower. We also were there during some kind of emergency, the warning went off in the hotel and then the all clear came! Then when we checked out another guest was like"is the threat over now what's happening" and the lady behind the desk shrugged shoulders and was like"apparently" that kind of bothered me because it was as if she was completely unaware! I mean was it a fire? A gun? A fight? A tornado? ----we should have been aware of SOMETHING! ESP for the amount you pay to stay!

Liked the hotel and my room. Only issue was cleaning staff didn’t make up the room during my 3 night stay. Not sure why.

very clean, only downfall is a train that comes through about every 2-3 hours 24/7
