Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Tuscaloosa - University

Room was canceled due to “night audit.” We had car complications and couldn’t try to check in until 4:30am. The staff member at the desk informed us the room was canceled. But we could stay if we purchase a whole other room in full. We were not contacted by the property or hotel manager about such policy. Or even that they had canceled the room. They waited until we got there to tell us.

The public areas were very clean but smelled so aggressively of cleaner it gave me a headache. The room was basic but suitable. Good continental breakfast.

Stayed here because of the cost. The location is perfect and the staff is always very friendly. We came for an Alabama football game and the guests there were fun a well. It is literally 13 minutes form the campus/stadium.

First room, we had 3 baby roaches. Plus floors needed swept, wall of tub were dirty Second room, roach fell on husbands hand when he looked in closet. Asked for a refund and left.

The interior of this property looked nothing like the pictures shown on Expedia. Our room was dirty. The paint on the wall was rubbed off. The bathroom door did not come close to shutting, because the door frame was so out of square. The shower had hair everywhere. We did not receive clean towels or washcloths after our first night. Went to the front desk and asked for more towels and washcloths, and was told they did have any more to give us. Definitely would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Not much to like about it . When we arrived the smoke detector was chirping . They were out of batteries so they just removed the whole thing . We opened the curtains in the morning to see a huge black mold infestation. We moved rooms and the tv didn’t work. Breakfast was gross .

Roaches in the very first room we checked in. Front desk changed our room to 4th floor. Room was stinking a lot like someone urinated in it.

Very clean hotel, going through some updating while we were there. Affordable, clean, quiet and comfortable. We had no complaint. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel was very rundown. The staff was very kind, but for the price you’re paying it was not good. The room was supposedly an upgraded suite, but didn’t have any of the amenities that was supposed to be given. There was hair and dirt in the bathroom. The bed sheets and blankets had stains on them. The lampshade had a orange filth on the bottom of the shade. It just was not clean or up, kept at all. I will say that we came down and stayed here for a football game so I do realize that the price was raised due to the demand, but it was not at all worth the money.

There were mice running around the breakfast area and in the roof. The hotel was under construction making it almost unable to get to the front door to check in. The smell was so overwhelming.

Staff would not bring towels or toilet paper to room, the room had a kitchenette with no fridge, bed was hard, the rooms smelled bad.

It was fine. I’d stay here again.

I don’t recommend this property at all! The room was horrible smelling. Sheets had stains and I called the front office several times after we checked in at 1:30 AM from driving 6 hours to get absolutely no answer! The breakfast was beyond disgusting! I asked for a supervisor and got “they ain’t no manager now”. Poor service!!!?
