Great location!
-
For the price and location, you can’t get much better. Comfortable.

I will definitely go back here- we were very comfortable & the decor in our room is nice. I will give this 4.5 and not 5 just because the water in the tub as you shower drains slow. Otherwise we had a wonderful overall stay!

Clean, Cozy, Cute

Cool old building, lakeview from our room was awesome.

Location was great! Very quiet hotel. Enjoyed the unique features of an historic building.

Very good

Our room was discovered dirty at check-in:unflushed toliet, dirty kitchen cabinets (sticky), dust on furniture, and filthy, grimy window blinds- all 4 sets should of been cleaned or taken down years ago. The room was faded and reflected wear and tear. Of important note, this hotel is not associated with the Chicago nor New York Knickerbocker!!! The front desk staff were rude, and offered solutions that didn't work for us. And when we didn't choose them, then their dirt was our problem. The room should of never been presented/cleared for check-in in that state! It's totally on them!!! Definitely won't be staying there again

I had absolutely the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. The cleanliness

It's a good hotel. It is in a great building and location, and has great responsive staff. We certainly did enjoy the stay. However, there are things we expect from a 4-star hotel that simply weren't present. The phone couldn't call the front desk, the soap and shampoo bottles were empty, we had to ask for a space heater, and the bathtub was coated in a cheap vinyl that while functional, felt like taking a shower in a bouncehouse. We still enjoyed our stay and for the price paid in a major city, it wasn't bad, but management at the Knickerbocker on the Lake needs to do a little more improvement to earn those four stars.

Great location. Near the HOP trolley line. Great 1920s hotel that has been upgraded. There are condos in the hotel and a couple of the long term residents were friendly and pleasant. Great to view the original 1920s structure. Will probably try to stay again when visiting my brother who lives within walking distance.
-
Old place and a curious setup, but the location is great, the parking ideally convenient, and the facility immaculate. The room we were in was large, with a little kitchenette and a tiny bit useful office alcove--it seemed like a layout from a Bogart movie. We were unable to check in on line due to a Hotel.com glitch, and to he in-person procedure was quite cumbersome, so do it on line if possible.

I was impressed with how well equipped the room was. Everything was in excellent condition. The shower had perfect pressure and the water wasn't too chlorinated or anything, soft water. One of my pillows smelled like someone was deep frying in the room and the oil vapor got embedded in the fabric. The rest were fine.

Historically pleasant stay.

Superb
-
Little to no interaction with the staff. Front desk was very nice.
-
Charming space, very clean, excellent staff, but we had no hot water from our shower.
-
Great location and very helpful front desk personnel. Nice restaurant just off lobby. Many rooms with water views with greats beds. Building is from 1925 with lovely decorative touches. Only complaint is poor water pressure for showering.
-
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy; the $25/day charge seemed comparable to other hotels. The only downside was the size of the bathroom to include a very small toilet. The rest of the room was spacious and comfortlable.

Friendly staff, kitchen, everything worked. Not sure I like these old hotels.
