Excellent stay

Probably the best and most conveniently located beach front hotel property in Newport Beach. Right by the pier, 100ft from the beach and dozens of (breakfast / lunch / dinner) restaurants and (beach) bars within minute(s) walk. Check-in and loading spot right in front of the entrance plus elevator. Designated parking (if desired) 300ft across the street.

Because it is a more vintage hotel in a historic building I did not think it was going to be as clean as it was. I actually just traveled to Las Vegas and I would put their standards right up there with some of the nicest hotels in Vegas. It is rough there is no service and everything around the beach closes about 10 PM unless you want to get a drink at a bar. Location is gorgeous. Parking was kind of a pain.

Great hotel

This is one of Southern California's best kept secrets! The charm and beauty of this hotel is a must experience for everyone. We often stay at this Newport Beach Gem, and it never disappoints. The staff is first class, and the location is amazing. Access to the restaurant below, the beach pier, the boardwalk, and the ocean are all in one place. On a scale of 1 to 10, we rate this place an 11. - MC

It’s a cute property for couples. Its is close to the beach and all the surrounding bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

The couldn’t accommodate our stay when we got there, even though our booking was confirmed both in my email and the booking appt. We had to make a last minute reservation to another hotel for accommodation. This was a very traumatic experience and unprofessional. Very disappointing.

We thought Doryman’s Inn was super charming. We loved that they have their own parking lot, and the location is amazing — right by the beach and pier, with tons of restaurants and bars just steps away. My wife has really been loving boutique-style hotels lately, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. One of our favorite little details was that you actually get a real key for the room. It gave the whole place a really cool vintage vibe. We also really liked that the front door to the hotel locks, so people who aren’t staying there can’t just wander in. The staff was super nice, and our room was very clean and tidy. Our only small complaint would be the bathroom mats. We wish they were a little larger because the tile gets pretty slippery when it’s wet. Overall, we loved our stay and would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely staff

The Doryman Bed and Breakfast is in a fantastic location. That said, it is quite dated needing new carpet and decor. There is a smell in the bedroom that smelled of a gas leak. Although the smell could be because the plumbing needs attention. The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff is attentive.

Very convenient. Walk to beach and restaurants. Front desk staff exceptional.
