Lovely, historic hotel rooms which are centrally located to many places to see. The water in the lobby ran out and there seemed to be no refilling area available. The bathroom sink had a steady drip which was upsetting due to water waste. Had a great time regardless.

Parking garage is close, restaurants close were also good. Room was clean, loved the giant bathtub. Stayed for Aftershock and the late check in was easy. Air conditioning was amazing, will stay here again.

The property was beautiful. We did not have hot water for showers two days of the three day we stayed there.

Staying here feels more like being in an Airbnb than a hotel. Staff is only around during limited hours and they give you a code to open a lockbox if you check-in after those times. The A/C in my room did not work at keeping the room cool at all, and I was only able to open one window in my room to let in fresh air. The TV didn't work at all. This is a beautiful building, I wish they could do more to restore it.

Beautiful room, wish the water in the tub got hotter but this is an older building.

Big, bright and spacious room, looked lovely on the surface. Desk was badly water damaged on top, large swath of the carpet was wet from the (very loud) portable AC unit in the middle of the room. The Jacuzzi tub, which was the main reason I booked this place over another historic option, had clearly been painted over numerous times, layers that now chipped off, exposing cracks reaching from one jet to another. It did not even seem like the tub would hold water, even if I had tried. (Not to mention the fact that the hot water was warm, at best.) I did not mind the contact-less check-in; I received a text with which box my key would be in and the code worked fine. Would have been nice for the room to have a list of amenities in the lobby even if it is just water and coffee and ice has some other reviewers have mentioned. The art felt random, the bathroom mirror was hung crooked, the portable AC was pretty much all or nothing, the faucet on the sink was barely usable, the bathroom accessories completely out of place. It took me a couple of hours to finish what should have been about 15 minutes worth of work because the wifi was so wretchedly slow that I ended up having to hotspot from my phone in order to save files to the server. There's a big difference between historic and old and unfortunately, well this place May have been lovely and historic at some point, it now just feels old and unkept.

First there is no staff on site. The key system works by texting someone for code to lockbox. The room had a temp air conditioner that was impossibly loud. Couldn’t sleep with it running. The main door was constantly left open for anyone to wonder in off the street. The cold water in the restroom sink didn’t work so hot water it is for brushing teeth.

Overall good

This place was interesting. It’s nice, but certainly could use some updating. It’s a dual purpose hotel. Meaning there are weddings being held during your stay so there’s always people around. So if you need handicap access, you have to enter through the side, where the weddings are taking place. Kinda awkward. We had problems with the keys and there wasn’t anyone around to help us. The actual contactless check in was easy and we were even upgraded to a suite. Nice staff, they communicated very well. There’s really NO amenities at the hotel but water, ice and coffee. No food available, but it’s conventionally located near many eateries. Overall, I give this facility a solid “C.”

This was simply an overnight stay, but there were several issues that made it less convenient than expected. The hardest part was finding the hotel entrance. Google Maps showed that I was right in front of the hotel, but all the signage seemed to indicate that the property was a wedding venue. I was very confused. I eventually rang the doorbell, but no one answered, so I called the hotel. Someone answered and said, “Just a moment.” After a couple more minutes, the door buzzed and I was allowed inside. Once inside, the staff was very nice and accommodating. They allowed me to check in early, which I appreciated. I was told the room was not completely ready and that someone would return with fresh towels. About 30 minutes later, while I was getting out of the shower, a staff member came to finish making the bed and refresh the towels. I appreciated that they followed through, although there were already towels in the bathroom that I was using. I also noticed a small leak under the bathroom sink that I could not stop. The Jacuzzi-style bathtub looked like it hadn’t been updated in decades, with visible cracks in the plastic, so I was uncomfortable turning on the Jacuzzi. The next morning, there was no one at the front desk to assist me. Overall, the staff was friendly, but the difficult entrance, bathroom issues, and lack of front-desk assistance made the stay less comfortable than expected.

Despite being told we could check in early because we were part of a wedding party, when we arrived at 2:30pm we were told there was no body to clean the room. We had to leave the wedding after it had started to come upstairs to check in after 4pm. I got several flea bites in our room and was not comfortable taking a shower in the cracked jacuzzi tub. I'm so disappointed that I wasted my one key credits on this property.

I stayed at the Sterling Hotel for one night. I stayed in the deluxe queen room. My room was at best decent. The room was in need of a better cleaning, better decor, had some chips and dents, the TV didn't have anything to access to watch anything, staff isn't around after 4pm, and I think that they can do better! I couldn't get the jet on the Jacuzzi tub to turn on and I texted the number that was given and got no response. They didn't acknowledge my text at all during my stay. It would be helpful if staff was available for at least a few hours during the evening time to help customers. When I checked in they should have included instructions on the Jacuzzi tub. They say that they are operating like a bed and breakfast when there is NO breakfast. Coffee was available in the lobby and in the room. I think they could have spared a few more k-cups for the Keurig and I had to go down to the lobby to get more coffee. They could have included sugar too! I also think they should have included a lamented sheet or binder of restaurants and things to do nearby. It would have made my stay easier to navigate. I'm disappointed in the lack of service. I really believe that they can do better!!!

The front desk closes at 4:30pm. I was locked out with no way to access my room. The security guard wouldn’t help and it took over half an hour of making calls and emailing until the emergency line texted me and gave me a lock box number and code.
