Amazing property!! Fabulous location!!

We have always had a great experience at Casa Monica, but with this past stay, there was no hot water. The staff was informed but nothing changed during our stay. We were also given the wrong room at first. I booked a suite with one king, and my husband and I walked into a room with 2 queens. We were like nope, not going to work! They did find us another room but we did not get the suite like I had booked.

Staff, remodeled rooms and location are all top notch

There was construction on several floors which caused some noise and effected access to the pool. The soap and shampoo dispensers did not have secure tops.

The staff was very efficient and accommodating even after we had to change our room the first night due to lack of hot water. The property is undergoing some major renovations which wasn’t a problem. The only issue we had was housekeeping never came during our two night stay and I think it must’ve been an oversight.

The rooms are ild And very dark! The carpets are disgusting and smell! We stayed in a room on the pool level at it was loud and very smelly!

The property is beautiful and in an excellent location, but under renovation. Pool was open but not the Hot Tub which is one of the reasons we chose this location. We had an issue with low water pressure and no hot water. Our room had no WiFi access for some reason. The phone did not work which was probably related to lack of WiFi in the room. Because they were completely booked, they could not move us to another room, so we transferred to another hotel. The staff is excellent and did what they could given the circumstances. Special thanks to Roberto. Three stars due to issues but much of the property would rate 5 stars if not for the water pressure/temperature problem in our room. We will try again another time.

The location was fantastic ..walkable to many of the attractions. Not the hotels fault- I just happened to stay there when the hotel was in the process of major renovations. Otherwise, I will definitely return

Poseidon Spa was one of the highlights of our anniversary trip. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and beautifully maintained, and the staff made us feel completely comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everything felt clean, professional, and first-class. It was the perfect place to unwind, relax together, and make our 13th anniversary weekend feel even more special.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend but they were redoing the rooms and no one mentioned that when we booked it. The constant noise and vibrations from the workers was horrible. When we arrived we found out that there was some work done. They told us that it was on the above floors so we will not noticed. The work was above and in our floor so we were walked up by the noise and had to pass by the construction. You would expect some kind of discount for the inconvenience but that was not the case. I will not recommend this hotel.

Trey at the front desk was fantastic! Enjoyed being offered a cold water/ bubbly upon arrival. Pool was nice. I for taint we were there during construction, but not terrible noise. I would’ve liked a small refrigerator in the room.

The location and the history of the place are amazing and cannot be beat! We walked into Old Town and then back to our room midday to beat the heat. Then back out in the evening. Perfect! The pool. Oddly shallow, which leads to oddly warm, and with a pool liner ?? That was a first for me. And the four dead container palms (no doubt due to the February freeze, but it's July now...... ) The entire pool area was not on a par with the rest of the facility.

Exceptional

The location was excellent. We were so close to everything and within walking distance to great restaurants. We were so intrigued by the amazing art collection throughout the entire hotel almost everything was for sale. Quite the collection! A must for art lovers loved. We enjoyed our evening cocktails with the bartenders and got so much info and history about the Kessler connection it was fascinating. When checking in the desk recognized that we had been with Bonvoy for many years. With that acknowledgement we usually get just a little extra special treatment for our loyalty. We were assigned a room right next to the gym, and it was tiny. Originally, we booked a king size room but were put in what I thought was a less than desirable room with a double bed. The staff did rectify this, and we were moved to a room with King size bed. So, in the end it was all good. Front desk staff could benefit from better training to recognize and reward longtime customers.

The location could not be better. Loved the old Spanish vibe of the hotel. The pool was beautiful and just the thing to cool off after a hot morning touring around. Loved the fruit infused water in the lobby, did not have a chance to try the bar or restaurant but they looked nice. The room was nice, if not super spacious, and overlooked the pool. The renovations that were being done weren’t too intrusive, but it did take away a little from the ambience as the elevator was all covered in cardboard to keep it from being damaged. Our room had a faint mildew smell or something we couldn’t quite put our finger on. It was very noticeable upon coming in from the hallway. A mini fridge would’ve been nice as having cold water handy is so important on these hot days. We are so used to having them in most hotel rooms, we were surprised that there wasn’t one.

It was a little musky smelling due to the ongoing construction during our stay.
