It is old school chic. The room is cute but the bathroom is complicated. There is little space and you have to jump the toilet to get into the shower.

We loved the central location plus the breakfast and cocktails - Cody was a super host - enjoyed our fire-side chats.

It’s very cosy and charming, and have much more character then typical hotels

We loved our stay at Petite Auberge! We arrived early and were able drop off our luggage and head out to explore. Paris, the concierge on duty, made several suggestions and off we went. The room was ready and waiting when we returned. It had a very nice, cozy feel and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We loved the Deco-era elevator! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful in directing us around SF. A nice breakfast each morning and wine and nibbles in the afternoon- a great touch.

With the hotel being old and on a busy street, we heard a lot of noise at night. Our room, though was comfortable and the staff and common areas were excellent

The hotel is charming and comfortable. While I appreciate the effort to maintain a vintage style, some areas could benefit from updates, as the overall feel is somewhat dated. Aside from that, I enjoyed my stay and found the experience pleasant.

Loads of charm and personality in a historic property. Now our go to hotel in San Francisco.

It is a unique place to stay. Great location. A little inconvenient the amenities were not onsite but at the sister inn

It’s quirky character and great location. Quite a bit of street noise.

One of the few hotels we've stayed at recently with daily maid service. The property could use a refresh. Our room was on the street side and was very noisy at night.

The whole hotel is gorgeous, and the Petite Suite is particularly nice with a private patio area on the hillside and a cozy fireplace. Staff were stellar and went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable! The breakfast, served two doors down at the White Swan, was quite good (mostly pastries) but not exceptional! I wish they had more warm options

This hotel was a great disappointment. Although it had all the quirky charm of a Victorian house, my room looked " tired" and unkept. To start, the shades were broken and I was not able to lower them against the outdoor light. The manager apologized, attempted to fix it, but ultimately couldn't. With the bed facing the windows, my sleep was not comfortable. Obviously, the hotel's maintenance did not bother to make sure that everything was in working order beforehand. The " luxury" bedding that i was promised was anything but luxurious. The bed was very lumpy and the blanket that I found in the cupboard clearly stained. I do not expect my accommodations to look like the pictures online- I know better- but I do expect clean bedding. I appreciated the good breakfast and access to water and tea around the clock. That's why I am giving 3 stars rather than 2.

Petit Auberge is a very well kept old building in downtown San Francisco, the theme is French and it is adorable. Everyone is kind and helpful without it feeling forced or corporate. Our room had a functioning fireplace and it was clean and well taken care of. The breakfast is served next door at White Swan Inn and it is great (cold cereal, granola, yogurts, boiled eggs, OJ, pastries, coffee...). They also have drinks and nibbles around 5PM! We were able to leave our luggage for a few hours after check out. Definitely a place to check out. Everything was great in both this and our previous experience.

I really thought this place was awesome. Incredible rooms, staff, and breakfast. Perfect location.

Great hotel, great location! 10/10 Will definitely come back if in SF! Breakfast at the other hotel was a bit disappointing but grateful at least it was free. Honestly there's nothing I didn't like. The hotel was great!

My partner and I absolutely fell in love with this place. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect; restaurants, coffee shops, and small convenience store right across the street. This place has so much character. Everything from the gated elevator to the rounded pane windows overlooking the street. Our room had a fireplace which we used on a cold morning. It didn’t overheat the room and gave the room such a romantic feel. Bathroom, linens, and the room it self was super clean. Fresh towels were provided daily. If you are looking for a charming small hotel in the heart of things then I would highly recommend this place.
