Convenient location near the Masonic and the Fairmont. Very cozy and comfortable room. Love the vintage elevator, decor and accommodations throughout including afternoon wine and morning breakfast. Valet parking was efficient as well. No complaints.
-
I loved the ambiance and the friendly staff. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was great. We’d stay there again.
-
The room was fantastic. So was the breakfast area. Very basic breakfast.

The breakfast here was fantastic! The breakfast room was beautiful and the staff super friendly. The bed and pillows were comfortable. My husband got a kick out of the old fashioned elevator. No onsite parking, though and it was $78 a day to park.
-
The comfy beds, quirky old building and furniture, and the fireplaces! Breakfast was a bit sad - would be good to see healthier food / fruit offered
-
The staff is exceptional. It is a very charming in. Breakfast is totally adequate. And the wine hour is delightful. The threshold to the bathroom is way too high and needs a transition molding. I stubbed the bottom of my foot and it was quite uncomfortable.

Be aware that there is no a/c nor ceiling fans in this building. It happened that a heat advisory was in effect while we were there. It was hot! If you open windows on the street side the bar noise keeps you awake. Nice breakfast, however, the only protein source was boiled eggs. Good location, good restaurants nearby.

The staff is so friendly and kind! I was so happy with my stay

We loved the staff! Everyone was so very kind. Our bed was comfy and the breakfast was spectacular! Our only complaint was about the cleanliness of our room (dust bunnies in the ceiling corners and hair stuck to the walls in the bathroom. Our drains didn’t drain well in our bathroom. However, the bed and pillows made up for it. We slept well.

Although not spankingly fresh, the hotel has a trendy UK-themed decor and is very comfortable. The gas fires in the bedrooms would be great in the cooler months. The bedroom, bathroom etc were very spacious and well-equipped. Even better would be a washer-dryer and there is enough space for these to be included. Breakfast had good options, and there is a lovely lounge for reading or relaxing. Good location just off Powell St, 5 mins walk to Union Square but not as hectic as that. The room fronting Bush St was noisy in the evening, and it was hard to control temperature - no aircon, just a fan and the option to open windows (which we struggled with , these were stuck closed).

The look of the place No air conditioning. Valet was a joke- they give you number to call to have your car ready and it’s never answered. You end up having the front desk call them and the proceed to have to wait another 30 minutes for them to bring your car to you. Parking in front of building was a mess. Always full no one moving cars even though it’s supposed to be valet. The noise from the street. You have to open your windows for cool air flow which means all the noise from the bars around you and traffic keep you awake all night.

Good location

The location was great. Walkable to so many popular spots in San Fran. Loved my breakfast every morning in the dining area. Coffee was good too! My room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and breezy. I’d definitely stay again

I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. My bed was clean and comfortable with the fireplace adding charm. The bathroom was updated and clean, even a bathrobe is provided. White Swan is in an old building with an overall B&B one would find in England, but the wooden furniture is worn and could use a little TLC. Every evening, wine and cheese after 5 pm is an added delight. Once again, this is an old building with an elevator that fits the time period. I was comfortable and it was like staying in my grandparents old historical home.

We liked how old it was and the elevator

Super cute hotel in a great location. Room was very good size, comfy bed. Decor was cool and well considered. They kindly provided a welcoming complimentary cheese board and glass of wine when we checked in. Breakfast too was a pleasant surprise, I’d not noticed it was included and it was a pretty good continental breakfast selection in a very nice basement dining room, complete with cosy fireplace under a rather random portrait of Bertie Bassett. Much more pleasant than a soulless chain hotel. This will be my go to for staying in SF moving forward.

Superb

Other than this old lady needing a stepstool to climb into bed, I loved everything about this hotel. From convenient location to super friendly staff, and in room fireplace, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We really took advantage of the wine and cheese hour and continental breakfast. What a lovely experience all around.

Love this unique spot, centrally located and relaxing to return to at the end of the day. This was my second stay, for three days this time, and I would return again. Beds are comfy, rooms are like mini suites, the fireplace adds coziness, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. The decor is fun -- not sure how all these prints and colors can be combined but it totally works.
