Barker's Island Inn Resort

The beds were lumpy. Uncomfortable, Springs were poking into my body. Several of the pillows did not even have cases on them. The halls were noisy. And pretty sure I smell cannabis being smoked in the halls for several nights. . Traveling with pet and several exterior doors were not accessible to go through and return without going around the whole building. Right next to the lake.

Room was ok, clean, a bit dated. You can hear everything in the hallway and the wind blowing at the windows, so not the quietest place. The restaurant was not good. The salad bar had old rotting lettuce in it. Ordered a fillet and they delivered a tough sirloin instead. There are better places to eat close by, including a similarly priced steakhouse with excellent steak and great service too.

Liked the location of the property, quiet.

Convenient location for a quick one night stop

The fridge in the room was quite smaller than most other hotels I've stayed at. But overall the experience at this resort was great!

The front desk staff was indifferent, neither pleasant or rude. Just not engaged. The rooms could use updates. The bathroom faucets need repair, they hard to move, and regulate the temp.

The filter on the HVAC unit in my room was almost completely clogged. I pulled it out and finally got good airflow. Also the floor of my bathtub was slick, dangerous. Details like these were missed and made me disappointed.

This is a basic hotel for a family. It has friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. The location is wonderful, right on the water!

Easy parking, older but decent facility. Priced much better. Very comfortable bed and shower.

The rooms are very old. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke, but the staff. The bathroom is very outdated and all the drains were plugged, so it was gross standing in someone else’s filth while taking a shower.

Severely disappointed the room was fairly clean but smelled of mildew and there was mold throughout the rooms. Beds were very old and lumpy. There were no outlets for cell chargers (usually there is a at least one outlet). The carpet in the room was literally crusty/crunchy. This property needs significant renovations. Or perhaps just taken down. Carpets in the hallways are rolling- don’t trip. The pool seemed reasonably taken care of. Very disappointed with the grab and go breakfast being for Mon- Fri only, as we are paying even more for a room on a Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the linens were clean. Overall- will not be returning not worth the money, mold was concerning and property is severely in need of full renovation/all amenities brought into the 20th century.

Some furniture and carpet showing wear and tear. Still a good place to stay. Hope owners will step up and invest in this property in its lovely location. We will stay there again.

Although the hotel is older, the beautiful view and the excellent restaurant and the pool and whirlpool make it well worthwhile to stay here. And the location is perfect also. When we got there, we asked for a room with a view of the lake and they gave us one. Very nice staff.
