Hotel Hive

We really enjoyed our stay, we had a great room on the corner, it was clean and spacious and the staff were lovely. My only criticisms are that it would have been nice for the bar and the pizza place to be open later, so we could have had a drink after coming in from elsewhere, it would have been nice to have had more food options, and on one of the nights the rooftop bar was closed for a private event, which was a shame as we had planned to go there. But I'm nitpicking really, we really liked it and would stay there again if we are ever in DC again!

Great staff ,location and service

The room was quite small, but thoughtfully designed. It had everything we needed, and we could request other things we wanted such as a tea kettle. The beds were comfortable (we had bunk beds) and we slept well. We loved the location, so close to everything. The room was also very quiet.

My favorite hotel in Washington!

Awesome location. Close to important landmarks. Cool atmosphere. Free morning coffee. The only negative I can say was there was no microwave.

Had a great experience at Hotel Hive in Washington, DC! The rooftop bar offers a fantastic atmosphere, and the pizza restaurant serves delicious food. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Great location, friendly and polite staff! Super clean, my second time staying when on a business trip to DC. Only mistake from my side is that I booked a bunk bed (it was still a nice comfortable night!)

I would recommend this hotel 10/10. I loved its proximity to the Metro. There are several restaurants and stores also within walking distance. The customer service is outstanding. The property is clean, minimalistic, welcoming, and stylish. The room (Queen Loft) is gorgeous. It has a unique layout; the bed is surrounded by windows. It feels like a castle turret. There are high ceilings, exposed beams, and ambient lighting. It was perfect for a solo stay visiting friends.

Great location near the Metro and right next to GWU, in an area that felt very safe. Major sights were easy to get to. The bed was so comfortable that I’m seriously considering replacing mine at home with the same brand!

Comfortable bed, nice shower. Excellent service from friendly staff. Close walk to cozy restaurants and cafés as well as to the Mall mile with all the big sites.

The staff was lovely. Warm, friendly and helpful. The location is excellent...a few blocks from the Lincoln Memorial end of the national mall, near George Washington University and a number of good places to eat. Easy metro access. This should be listed in a separate category like a hobbyist hotel. The rooms are very small although I was told when we checked out you could call ahead and ask for a larger room. This felt like a capsule hotel you could stand up in. Reminded my husband of his days in the submarine and me of our times riding in 2nd class sleeper cars in Europe. The room is a bed. There is nowhere to sit except the bed. No place to put your suitcase except on the bed. Nowhere to put clothes so you end up living out of your suitcase. Had to crawl over partner to get to bathroom from the bed. The bathroom sink is one of those quarter sized sinks you see in trains. The shower however was a generous size. Needless to say, this is the perfect hotel not to spend any time in your room. But, it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was nice. The location good.

Hive is funky. No cookie cutter business hotel. Has personality. They revel in the compactness. Room was really quite small (as advertised) but perfectly comfortable for us. Great shower. Breakfast area (free coffee!) very pleasant; service v good, friendly. Pizza looked good (we never got around to having it). Rooftop space was fabulous on the one day when we had good weather. A real bonus! Location in heart of George Washington University, a couple blocks to The Mall & Lincoln and Kennedy Performing Arts Center, A mile or so to the major Smithsonian museums, was perfect for our needs.
