Everything about this hotel was excellent, with only one small issue. The staff seemed a bit disinterested in a middle aged couple on vacation with multiple weddings and other occasions in and around town for the weekend. We have not been to York very often and this was supposed to be a celebratory weekend, but it felt a little down when we were not told about amenities or hotel offerings upon check-in. The restaurant in the hotel lobby was terrific, as was the atmosphere, cleanliness, and comfort of the hotel. The overall evaluation was fantastic, but for the seeming lack of interest from the staff with out check-in experience.

It's a beautiful hotel, the room was clean and spacious. It's in a great location in downtown York, and a short easy, less than 5 min, walk from Appell center for performing arts. All the staff we came in contact with were very helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend. Nothing we didn't like.

A charming historic hotel with an especially helpful staff in the vicinity of shops and restaurants in a restored downtown.

The hotel is operating while undergoing major repair/refurbishment. The neighborhood is best described as marginal. There are row houses and tenements a block away. The residents and businesses just pile their bags of trash and garbage on the street corners. Hotel parking is across the street and late night access is best achieved with a large armed escort. The elevators are rigged to require a room key to operate and are somewhat stubborn which can leave you using the stairs. Staff are quite helpful and most have a sense of humor about the various issues. Not an unpleasant stay, but the advertised price per night implies a somewhat different experience.

I liked everything exept see below The card you need to power on in the room. We did not realize til the morning that there were switches on the lights so we slept with the lights on. No problem we were able to sleep.

All around great hotel. Clean. Nice amenities. Professional staff. Great bar and restaurant. Excellent food. Not you typical hotel restaurant and bar.

The newly renovated hotel is nice, and in the center of the middle of York. The staff was enthusiastic and welcoming. The lobby, especially the bar, is beautiful. The room was well-appointed, comfortable, and clean. The rooftop bar, however, which we were very much looking forward to, was deeply disappointing. Management should seriously re-think their rooftop concept. For a high-end hotel (with room rates to match), the rooftop shouldn't be a watering hole for wahoo's and power drinkers. The bar was grossly under-stocked, the decor and the seating was uninviting, and the poor ladies at the bar were struggling to keep up with the demanding drunks 3-deep at the bar. It was repulsive. Your rooftop bar--the only one in the city--should exceed the vibe you're trying to create with the rest of the hotel. Here's a hint: cornhole games on your rooftop patio are not the way to go.

Rooftop bar is fabulous! When we first arrived with our bikes, we were told to park in the parking garage, which was not right, but finally we were given a great space just inside the front door. Thank you for that and hopefully in the future we can be directed directly to that room for bike storage.

I was not wild about my stay this time. It seemed to have gone downhill since the last my last stay which was when it first opened about 2 years ago. The room was below average. Towels were rough; the sheets smelled funky; both the toilet paper and tissues were very low quality - 1 ply. Shower floor looked like it had seen better days as did the entire bathroom floor. Very disappointing.
