Funny smell

The Granger Hotel is a very nicely appointed boutique hotel. It has a very luxurious feel. The building is beautiful. Very old and very stately. The rooms were cozy, without feeling small. The windows brought in some brightness. The bed was stellar.. And the bathroom was clean and compact. The neighborhood...directly in front of the building is sketchy. There are homeless everywhere. But...its downtown so its not unexpected

Staff very cool and friendly. Design hotel, pleasant to just be there Always colds in the room and common areas. Air cons blasting full force. Summers in San Diego can be very hot, but the stark difference was very annoying

The location was FANTASTIC, and I loved the added security of having doormen outside. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was impeccable and the snack closet was such a sweet, unique idea. Plus the Santal 33 body wash, lotion, soap, shampoo and conditioner was an incredible touch!! I can't wait to stay here every time we come to SD now!! Our AC went out but they were able to fix it promptly once we went to the front desk so it was no problem.

Great location. Cool old hotel with updated rooms. Free items in pantry on every floor. It is pricy and so is the valet parking but so is every hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter.

The hotel did not live up to the descriptions on the website - the rooms were extremely small, there was no place to store your clothes or luggage, the snacks were basically nuts and M&M’s and we did not receive the advertised “welcome drink”

This hotel was so different than your typical hotel chains we felt like we are in different country. The decor, the furniture, the location, the staff were all top notch. I would definitely stay at this hotel in my next visit.

Right in the middle of the gas lamp district and walking distance from Petco Park Parking was a little pricey

there was a terible smell on the apartment which actually was quite small. we couldnt open the window and the personnel didnt seem to care... we left second day cause theres much better options downtown. so sad

The Granger is a very special boutique hotel, in the heart of the energetic Gas Lamp district, the decor is unique and enchanting, the people fabulous, great breakfast reasonably priced. We will return.

Overall the property was nice and gave you that boutique feel. The staff was amazing and I felt safe with the gentleman at the main door letting you in. The only thing I didn’t not like about the hotel was the smell. The lobby had a weird smell and my room smelled horrible. However, to the hotel’s defense, I didn’t not notify them that I was unhappy with the smell. I do know all of the rooms did not smell like that because my colleague had a room on the 4th floor and her room smelled “normal”.

Great location, with plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner. Although there is no coffee machine in the room, there is one in a cabinet with distinctive crocodile-shaped handles near the elevator; there, you can not only make coffee and tea but also grab small snacks and candies. The greatest inconvenience was the loud noise coming from the air conditioner fans outside the window all night, which significantly disturbed my sleep. The breakfast selection was relatively modest.

The decor in the lobby was fresh and new, made the hotel feel more expensive. the staff was also incredibly nice. The breakfast had great options. The door to the bathroom does not offer much privacy and also lack of counter space in the bathroom. The room was also a bit small but worked for our price range. I also wish there were more food options within the hotel throughout the day.
